This book needs to be edited, not just spellcheck! There is misuse of the words "to/too", and several run-on sentences, and grammatical errors. The title is misleading. I thought it would be more about the Orphan Train, like the book "Orphan Train", and it's not. The storyline is a little disjointed and scattered.Product details

The Orphan Train edition by Brent Ford Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I'm not sure I can finish this book, it is so poorly written. It doesn't make sense in some areas. and the punctuation is often not even close to what a writer would use. Really sorry I bought it. Read the other "Orphan Train" by Christina Baker Kline if you want a good story with touching and clever writing! Sorry, but I just can't understand how this even made it onto !
Thought I was ordering Orphan Train A Novel (by Christina Baker Cline), but didn't know the author's name at the time. This is a rather predictable, formulaic Western novel about a bank robbery, a gang on the run from a posse, and I don't know what else, since I didn't get past the third chapter. I'm not saying it's rubbish, it just fails to inspire. And in any event, this wasn't even the book I thought I was ordering, lol.
What I liked was the story. It had a good flow to keep the different intertwining plots running smoothly. What I didn't like was the many grammatical and spelling errors. I have never read a book with so many of them. That aside, I liked that dialect and colloquial language was employed to tell the story. The mistakes interrupted the flow of the story for me. The ending was predictable towards the end, but still effective.
Unfortunately, I was on a 6-hour plane trip when I opened my kindle to start my new book. I winced at the first grammatical mistake and kept going, but it was so poorly written that I finally shut down the kindle and hauled out my week-old NYTimes book review section to see if I'd made a mistake. I was sure that I'd seen this book on the best seller list but just couldn't believe it, based on what I'd read. Sure enough, a book of the same name but a different author was listed. Grumble, grumble, up in the air with no wi-fi and nothing else to read! Lesson learned is always travel with back-up reading material!
the story itself was okay. The grammar, punctuation was so bad! It caused me to have to re-read a sentence, time and again. I wonder if it was ever proof read?
If you enjoy stories of relentless child abuse and mindless violence, this one's for you. This is a dime novel populated with cartoonish characters, the vast majority of which are unappealing to revolting. With its "this happened, then this happened, then meanwhile back at the ranch" style, you will be begging for the end of the line.
The story was good if someone else had written it. There was punctuation where none was needed (in the middle of a sentence you would find several commas) and other punctuation that was meaningless. I made it a point not to buy another Brent Ford book.
This book needs to be edited, not just spellcheck! There is misuse of the words "to/too", and several run-on sentences, and grammatical errors. The title is misleading. I thought it would be more about the Orphan Train, like the book "Orphan Train", and it's not. The storyline is a little disjointed and scattered.
